Best Time to Visit the Sahara Desert

Best Time to Visit the Sahara Desert

The Sahara swings between extremes, so timing your trip matters. October to April is the sweet spot: warm days, cool nights, and clear skies for stargazing.

Summer (May–September)

Daytime temperatures can exceed 45°C in Merzouga and Zagora. Doable, but plan camel treks for early morning or sunset and pack accordingly.

Winter Nights

Desert nights drop close to freezing in December and January — our camps provide heavy blankets, but pack a warm layer.
